Dear Parents,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the
2009-2010 school year.
We anxiously await the fall opening of our new
Kindergarten complex, a spectacular second home for our dedicated teachers and
eager young learners!
The role of the Parents' Association is to
create a strong, close knit community of families, to provide support for our
teachers in the classrooms, celebrate our faculty and staff, and raise funds
for faculty enrichment, tuition assistance, and to fund the teachers' wish list. I encourage you to become part of this
wonderful association! The $40.00 annual
family membership helps to fund the Back to School Picnic, faculty and staff
appreciation luncheons, and celebrations in the classrooms for the
students. I am still amazed, after
having been a member of our community for eight years, at the outpouring of
generosity amongst our families for one another, our children, and our faculty.
We look forward to seeing you at our monthly
Parents' Association town hall meetings.
Please join us the first Thursday of each month, to learn more about the
wonderful second home that you have chosen to enrich your children's
lives! At the PA meetings, you will be
enlightened on a different aspect of Country Day, each month. Please feel free to ask questions and get
involved. We want to hear your
voice! We invite you to share your
thoughts, questions and/or suggestions at the PA meetings, or on our web site www.ljcdspa.org
. Personal contact among
parents and PA board members is welcome and encouraged. Please feel free to contact any of us with
questions or suggestions. The PA board is comprised of parents that
have children in each division at Country Day.
In addition to the meetings, please watch for
our monthly e-blast, the PA Newsbrief.
This newsletter provides a summary of the information discussed at the
PA meetings, and includes a list of resources regarding the topic
presented.
We have many volunteer opportunities! Becoming
involved in the PA is a great way to meet parents from all divisions and
discover the magic of our community of parents, students, faculty and
staff. Please take a moment to
familiarize yourself with our website www.ljcdspa.org, where you will find a wealth of useful information for the coming
school year.
Warmly,
RobynAnn D. Nelson Parents' Association President 2009 - 2010
