Homecoming Week 2016

By Communications
Spirit Week, which was celebrated in all three divisions, captured incredible school spirit and concluded at Homecoming on Friday, October 14. Students and teachers participated in daily themed spirit days including pajama day, preppy day and even crazy/mismatched day.

Thursday’s Lower School pep rally led by Coach Hales, did not disappoint. Surrounded by Upper School athletes, Lower School students were happy to shout along in true spirit-week fashion. Our mascots made an appearance along with the Middle School band and our Little Torrey Cheer and Flag Football players were recognized for their hard work and practice. The pep rally ended with Kyra Aires ‘27 , Penelope Fleischer ‘27 and Nicholas Mogul ‘27 being recognized for their winning artwork that was showcased at Friday’s Homecoming game.

The Middle and Upper School pep rally, which took place on Friday was filled with a sea of Torrey blue, glow sticks, balloons and cheering students. All Upper School athletes were announced as they ran through the tunnel and students participated in games like tug-o-war, relay races, and even Simon-says with the glow sticks. The pep rally concluded with a laser light show and dance party!

With lots of support from a great turnout, our Torreys defeated Francis Parker 63-3. A big congratulations to Braxton Burmeister ’17 for breaking CIFSDS passing yards record during the homecoming game!

A memorable halftime included performances by the Marching Band, Little Torrey Football and Little Torrey Cheer.

Thank you to all the students, parent volunteers and faculty/staff for making this year's Homecoming one to remember!
