Under the Learning Resource Center, peer tutoring is a joint effort with community service, where Upper School students provide one-on-one coaching in all content areas including subject matter, study skills and homework help.
The program serves the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools and has flexible hours during and after school. The program is request-based or referral-based depending on the availability of our tutors and the needs of the tutee.
Both tutees and tutors benefit greatly from peer tutoring. Tutees gain understanding of subject matter, hone their study skills, improve social and personal development and boost their motivation. Tutors, in turn, sharpen their interpersonal skills, gain confidence, get valuable review of subject matter and earn community service hours.
