Applying to Lower School (Kindergarten - Grade 4)
Your child’s growth from kindergarten through Grade 4 is enormous. In choosing La Jolla Country Day School (LJCDS), you have found a place where your child can grow in character, mind and body. We welcome children who show such potential for growth and families who value it. If you would like more information or would like to schedule a tour or optional visit day, please click here.
Lower School Application Process
The Lower School includes kindergarten and Grades 1 through 4.
Welcome to our Phase 2 application process. We will work with late applicants during Phase 2 on a space available basis.
The priority application deadline is February 1, 2020 for the 2020-2021 school year.
Once you have submitted the application, you will be directed to your checklist. Your checklist will show you next steps, which will include forms that need to be submitted and appointments that need to be scheduled.
If your checklist does not show up immediately after submitting the online application, please allow up to 24 hours for it to display on your child’s application.
If your child is applying to grades 2 - 4, please register for ISEE testing. The LJCDS ISEE school code is 051333.

Optional Visit Day
If you have already completed an inquiry but would like your child to attend an optional visit day, please contact Emilyn Edquilang at firstname.lastname@example.org or Jessica Biglin at email@example.com.
Please note that the “optional” visit day is an opportunity for students looking at Grades 1–11 who are uncertain if they want to engage in the official admission process to visit our campus.
All applicants to Grades 1–11 will be required to participate in an official visit day which will be available during January and February 2019. The optional visit day is not in lieu of the official visit day.
