FULL CLOSURES ON GENESEE AVENUE FOR TROLLEY STATION CONSTRUCTION
Starting Friday, February 7, and continuing through Monday, February 10, there will be a series of full closures on both northbound and southbound Genesee Avenue, between Executive Drive and La Jolla Village Drive, as crews remove falsework from the Trolley bridge.
Traffic controls and detour routes will be posted. Motorists should take alternate routes to avoid potential congestion. Please heed all traffic signs and use caution when traveling near the work area.


The following closures will be in place:

• Full closure of both northbound and southbound Genesee Avenue from 9 p.m. on Friday, February 7, through 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, February 8.
• Full closure of both northbound and southbound Genesee Avenue from 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, through 5:30 a.m. on Monday, February 10.

What to Expect:

• Full closure of southbound Genesee Avenue between Executive Drive and La Jolla Village Drive
• Full closure of northbound Genesee Avenue between La Jolla Village Drive and Executive Drive

Genesee Avenue and the nearby areas will be surrounded by construction as SANDAG moves forward with transportation improvement projects, which includes the following projects that directly affect La Jolla Country Day School (ljcds) traffic.

  1. The Mid-Coast Corridor project includes the Mid-Coast Trolley, which will extend rail service from downtown to University City. Service date is anticipated to begin in 2021.
