Speak your truth, share your story, and change the world for the better.

Come and hear a selection of US VAPA student's 2-minute speeches about the impact of art and wisdom in their lives. We are honored to have Alumna and ECC Teaching Assistant, Laurel Johnson speak at the opening of the ceremony about the impact art has had on her life.

About the selection process, VAPA is proud to present the 3rd annual Louise Balmer Creative Recognition ceremony. The selected US speakers demonstrate value for the creative process. Their love of an artistic genre has raised their confidence and commitment toward self-awareness. Their teacher has watched their creative risk-taking toward a newfound conviction positively impact other members of the classroom and the community-at-large. Student speakers might not have the highest grade in the class or the highest GPA in the US, but their character is strong and resilient. We believe they have life lessons to share with the US community. Overall, the students are beacons of inspiration and push artistic genres in ambitious and imaginative directions.
