Friday, December 8 was a day of excitement for students in Grades 4–6. Due to a generous parent donation and the collaboration between the fourth-grade team and the library, LJCDS was able to host crowd-pleasing, award-winning author Jack Gantos.
A copy of Mr. Gantos’ newest book, Writing Radar, was provided to each fourth grader to give them a chance to learn about his writing tips before his visit. In addition to the writing workshops that he taught, Mr. Gantos had students, faculty and staff falling out of their seats with laughter at his stories during an assembly for Grades 4–6.
Thank you to all, including parents for making this visit possible and enriching for all of us who were fortunate enough to be involved. It is wonderful to be able to connect students with a favorite author!
