Please join the Learning Resource Center as we welcome Andrew Watson, founder of Translate the Brain. Andrew will focus on the idea that we all want our students and children to learn when they study. Unfortunately, many common study practices do not promote learning and shockingly, some interfere with learning.
This talk, lively and practical, explores the latest research in cognitive psychology and neuroscience to provide effective learning strategies. These strategies—both intuitive and counter-intuitive—help students transform wasted time into highly productive study sessions. Covering everything from sleep to music to retrieval practice, the talk makes abstract scientific conclusions practical, interesting and fun.
