Newbery Assembly with Author Kwame Alexander

Kwame Alexander, author of the Newbery Award winner The Crossover as well as other bestsellers including Booked and most recently The Playbook, will present at two assemblies and briefly sign books. Please note times and locations as they have changed:
- 1–2:15 p.m. in Community Hall; Mr. Alexander, accompanied by musician Randy Preston, will present for Grades 4–6 students and their families. Students will be recognized for their reading achievements at the conclusion of the presentation and are invited to attend a reception immediately following in the courtyard of Community Hall.
- 2–2:40 p.m. in Four Flowers Theater; Mr. Alexander will present with musician Randy Preston for Grades 7–8, plus Upper School Diversity Club and poetry class. The LJCDS community is welcome to join this presentation.
- 2:45–3:15 p.m. Mr. Alexander will sign books in Lower School Library
