College Counseling: Parents Advisory Group and Admission Testing

College Counseling has a double event on Wednesday, March 15!
5:30–6:15 p.m. Parents to Parents College Advisory Group (new date)
6:30–8 p.m. College Admission Testing Presentation
 
1) Parents to Parents College Advisory Group will meet in the Jacobs Family library on the second floor of the administration building for a college presentation plus Q&A with a college rep, alumni parents and a college counselor. For more information, please click here.

2) College Admission Testing Presentation will be in the Four Flowers Theater. Adam Ingersoll, co-founder of the Compass Education Group, will present on the specifics of college admission testing. Topics covered will include:

• SAT or ACT: making your best choice
• Understanding PSAT scores and what they project
• The role and weight of test scores in college admissions
• Why colleges’ testing policies vary so widely
• Debunking the most pervasive myths about testing and admission
• The relevance of subject tests at elite colleges
• Successful test prep strategies, including self-prep

While the timing of the presentation is ideal for Grade 10 families who need to learn about the testing process that is on the horizon, it is also appropriate for Grade 9 families looking to plan ahead and for Grade 11 families who have not yet finalized their testing plans.
