LJCDS Hosts - 10th Annual Coastline Case Studies

Location: Pavilion, Upper School Classrooms and Gym
This very important evening is for current juniors and their parents hosted by the College Counseling office.
This is an invaluable opportunity to meet with over 90 different college representatives on the LJCDS campus. The evening is designed to have students and parents review and participate in the discussion of admission applications, mirroring the process that a college admission office will engage in as they consider applicants. Participants will read and garner admission decisions for three fictitious applicants. A discussion of the evaluation and merits of these applicants will be discussed in a small group setting led by experienced admission officers. Then, everyone comes together at the end of the evening for both a college fair event and to see the outcomes from the case studies. The event provides firsthand insight into the college application review process and provides families with an opportunity to connect with representatives from a variety of outstanding colleges and universities.

Please plan to arrive on campus no later than 6:15 p.m. to check-in and receive a classroom assignment. Discussions will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. A large crowd is expected with invitations sent to families from The Bishop’s School, Francis Parker School and the High Tech High Schools. It is critical to arrive on time.

In order to have a full experience, please be certain to read the applications before the event. The three applications and a description of the university along with the list of participating schools can be found on the parent portal college counseling resource board or by clicking here.
