International Women of Courage Award Winner Naw K’nyaw Paw

The LJCDS world language department, the Center for Excellence in Citizenship, the Preuss School and the San Diego Diplomacy Council are pleased to host a Global Social Hour in honor of the 2019 winner of the U.S. State Department International Women of Courage Award.
Naw K’nyaw Paw is a peace activist and General Secretary of the Karen Women’s Organization (KWO), an ethnic women’s organization of over 60,000 members, supporting gender equality and indigenous people’s rights in Burma. Featured guests will also include two visiting delegations: ten educators from Iraq and seven English-language teachers from Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. RSVP is highly encouraged.
