Blue Bash

Saturday, March 16, 2024
6–10 p.m.
Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine

Every spring, the Parents Association, in partnership with the Office of Philanthropy, hosts an evening fundraising event. Blue Bash raises money for tuition assistance, faculty and staff professional development, Parents Association activities and the endowment.

The community contributes in different ways, including purchasing sponsorships or tickets, bidding in the silent and live auctions and making gifts in support of tuition assistance.

Blue Bash 2023 raised a record-setting $1,040,000, surpassing 2022’s all-time high of $1 million!

Raise Your Paddle: Tuition Assistance

LJCDS is committed to enrolling the most talented students regardless of their financial background. We strive to maintain a balanced, diverse community representing a variety of cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Need-based tuition assistance is available for students who impact our campus as scholars, artists and athletes of character.

Raise Your Paddle: Professional Development

LJCDS faculty and staff are truly the heart and soul of our school. Providing continuing education opportunities for professional growth directly impacts the classroom experience. From global excursions to local conferences, these opportunities help inspire and connect our educators, staff and students. Gifts to Faculty Professional Growth allow our leaders to keep up with technologies and trends and connect to educators and students around the world.

Your Gift Benefits the Endowment

A strong endowment provides LJCDS with a steady source of revenue, which supports all aspects of the school. Unlike Country Day Fund gifts, which are used to fund the school’s operating costs, the principal of an endowment gift is preserved and provides income in perpetuity. Endowed funds are invested and independently managed. The finance committee, in partnership with the head of school, CFO and board of trustees, oversees the investment policies and procedures. All surplus funds generated from the Parents Association will be donated to the school’s general endowment.
