Faculty Spotlight: Robert Wagner

By Rachel Baxter, digital media and design coordinator
La Jolla Country Day School exists to inspire greatness for a better world. We are committed to developing a culture and community of faculty, staff and students who believe in something bigger than themselves. Below, performing arts teacher Robert Wagner speaks to how he inspires greatness for a better world.

Greatness can be achieved by actions both big and small. Greatness is neither luck nor an accident, it is achieved through a process. Research has shown that the most successful people in the world were not smarter than their counterparts in their field, but they possessed four common qualities that helped them achieve greatness:

  1. Strong work ethic
  2. Person of character
  3. Ability to access and leverage mentors
  4. A desire to challenge the status quo and ask “what if?” or “why not?”
