Alumnus Elected Governor

LJCDS alumnus Jared Polis ’93 was elected governor of Colorado in the 2018 gubernatorial election.
Congratulations to La Jolla Country Day School alumnus Jared Polis ’93 who was elected the 43rd governor of Colorado.

Polis is Colorado’s first Jewish governor and the first openly gay man elected to lead any U.S. state. The former U.S. Representative for northern Colorado defeated Republican state Treasurer Walker Stapleton by 51.9 percent.

A longer story will be published in 1926, La Jolla Country Day School’s magazine, coming out in early December.
