Lower School E-Learning, Spring 2020

The Lower School e-learning model values the partnership between families and educators working together to support students’ emotional, social, physical and intellectual development. Our goal is to position our children for joy and success. The robust distance learning model is a combination of synchronous (virtual interactions with teachers in real-time) and asynchronous (independent learning, self-paced) learning with a focus on academic support and relationship building.

Zoom meetings are conducted in the morning and afternoon each day that focus on relationships and well-being. Throughout the day, students will meet with their teachers for core academic content and skills. Our rich program incorporates physical education lessons and two specialty classes each day.
LJCDS has come together as a community to do what is best for the students. It is like a huge village coming together to make everything work.”

Jo Shieh, Lower School Educator
We are committed to honoring and supporting each family’s circumstances during COVID-19 while also maintaining a core set of standards and expectations.
