Welcome to La Jolla Country Day School’s summer programs! We are excited that you are spending some (or all!) of your summer with us. If you’re returning from last year, welcome back, and thank you for choosing us again!

From theater to innovation and tech, to art and rock climbing, there are options for every age. Your child can solve mysteries in Escape Rooms, play futsal (indoor soccer), cook delicious food, build an app, attend day camp, create contemporary art, Flamenco dance to Spanish music or star in the summer musical, Disney’s Aladdin JRThese are just a few experiences awaiting you at La Jolla Country Day School this summer. 

Classes run from June 8–August 7.

Daily Schedule

Take a morning or afternoon class or stay for a full day of fun! Most classes are one week long. The multi-week courses are noted in the dates section below the course description. 

Morning classes run from 8–11 a.m. Drop-off for morning classes begins at 7:30 a.m. Afternoon classes run from 12–3 p.m. Drop-off for afternoon classes begins at 11:30 a.m. If your child is staying with us for the morning and the afternoon, they will be able to enjoy a supervised group lunch with their new friends.

Lunch (11 a.m–12 p.m.):
Students enrolled for full days of fun will have a lunch break from 11 a.m.–12 p.m. A catered lunch from SAGE Dining Services® is offered for all K–Grade 12 students participating in our summer programs at no additional charge. Gluten-free options are available. Students may also bring their own lunches. Please clearly mark names on lunch containers.

If students need to bring a sack lunch for a field trip program, please pack it in a disposable container. 

Pre-K students are asked to bring lunch for early childhood programs.

Extended Day

“Ultimate Camp Experience”:
Need to stay later than 3 p.m.? No problem! Students can stay as late as 5:30 p.m. 

The afternoon extended day is open to kindergarteners–Grade 8 students attending an afternoon summer camp session. This time will be filled with additional camp activities such as crafts, games and playtime. This Extended Day experience is $12-per-hour for drop-ins. Families using this service will simply be billed at the end of the week.

If you know ahead of time that you will need your child to stay for Extended Day, we encourage you to sign-up when you register for camp to receive our discounted rate of $100 for the whole week (12.5 hours of extended day).


Registration will be completed online at summerljcds.campbrainregistration.com. Students should enroll in classes for the grade level they will be entering in Fall 2020. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Space in a class is only reserved upon receipt of full payment. Classes will run only if there is adequate enrollment. If the minimum class size has not been met by the Wednesday before class starts, the class will be canceled and a full refund will be given to anyone enrolled. Please register early and spread the word about your favorite classes!

If you are enrolling an international student, they should be proficient in English (spoken language, and for some classes reading and writing) in order to fully benefit from the class. Students may be advised to withdraw or switch classes if they do not meet proficiency standards.

Early-Bird Discount:
To receive a 10% early-bird discount, please register for classes by Friday, April 10, 2020. 

Fees and Refund Policy:
Fees vary depending on materials and staffing needs. Fee amounts are indicated below the course descriptions. Financial assistance is available to La Jolla Country Day School families for academic classes only. Financial assistance awards will be lowered by 10 percent during the early bird discount period. A refund of 100% of the tuition for any class can be obtained prior to Monday, May 18, by emailing summerprograms@ljcds.org. A 75% refund will be made for refund requests made no later than two weeks prior to the start of a class. To ensure proper staffing and supplies, refunds after that point in time cannot be offered.
