  • Boys Lacrosse (K–Grade 8)

    It’s time for summer goals! This four-day camp is designed to improve skills in all aspects of lacrosse, for both beginners and advanced players. We’ll start at square one, focusing on being fundamentally sound and technically correct, and build each player from the ground up. Students will leave with the confidence that they have a strong foundation for future success.

  • Girls Lacrosse (K–Grade 4)

    It’s time for summer goals! This camp is designed to improve skills in all aspects of lacrosse while having fun! The camp is for both beginners and advanced players. We’ll start at square one, focusing on being fundamentally sound and technically correct, and build each player from the ground up. Players will have the opportunity to work with LJCDS Upper School female athletes and will leave with the confidence that they have a strong foundation for future success. A minimum of 10 players is needed to run this camp.

  • Girls Sand Volleyball (Grades 5–9)

    Bump! Set! Sand! It’s summertime, and there’s no better place to spend it than on the beach. LJCDS Volleyball Camps provide a sand volleyball intensive to prepare you for the upcoming season. It’s harder to move and play in the sand, so you’ll learn techniques that will elevate both your mental and physical stamina on the court. Never played before? That’s OK!  Players are divided into training groups that ensure they get the most out of each session. All levels of experience are welcome, and advanced training will be available for more-experienced players.

  • Indoor Volleyball (Grades 3–8)

    Boys and girls come volley this summer. Beginners to advanced players are welcome. Players will practice key skills, including passing, setting, hitting, blocking, serving, digging, and will learn tactical strategies to improve their game.

  • Rock Climbing (Grades 5–9)

    Calling all rock fans! In one action-packed week, students will learn a variety of rock climbing skills, including knot tying, proper equipment use, belaying (being a principal source of protection to other climbers) and overall climbing technique. In the process, they’ll also learn leadership skills, teamwork, trust-building and self-confidence through physical and mental challenges. This course is taught by Mesa Rim Climbing & Fitness Center. Transportation will be provided to-and-from the center.

  • Athletic Performance Camp

    Whether a novice or champion, one-sport or multi-sport athlete, we have the program for you. Enhance your skills with joint integrity, stabilization, balance, coordination, agility, functional strength and conditioning. The mechanics of running, jumping and moving in multiple directions will be covered. PE teacher Kevin Reaume is a veteran of LJCDS athletics and is head track and field and strength and conditioning coach and varsity football coach. You can choose every day which session you will attend.

    PE/Athletic Credit Opportunities: LJCDS students who want more time for academics, the arts and community service may earn their 2019–2020 school year PE/athletic credit by completing Coach Reaume’s 6-week strength and conditioning summer course.

  • Nike Basketball Camp

    Learn and improve from one of the most prominent high school basketball coaches in the nation, our very own Terri Bamford. La Jolla Country Day School will host a co-ed Shooting Camp and girls-only Complete Skills Camp.

    The Shooting Camp emphasizes technique, footwork, shooting drills, shooting off the dribble, shooting off the pass, shooting games, free throw shooting and post/perimeter shooting.

    The Complete Skills Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills and enhance their skill set at the post, wing or guard position.
