General Information

Welcome to Summer at Country Day, La Jolla Country Day School’s summer programs. We are excited that you are spending some (or all!) of your summer with us. Refer to the general information below or check out the FAQs page.
From drama to innovation and tech to art and dance, there are options for every age. Your child can learn to cook, play baseball, write a story, become a CEO, compose and perform with the San Diego Opera, build conflict resolution skills in The Global Leadership Youth Program and much more. These are just a few experiences awaiting you at La Jolla Country Day School this summer.
Sessions run from June 6–August 5. There will be no camp on Monday, June 20 and the week of July 4–8. Sign up for a morning or afternoon class or stay for a full day of fun.

Morning classes run from 8:30–11:30 a.m. Drop-off for morning classes begins at 8 a.m. Afternoon classes run from 12:30–3:30 p.m. Drop-off for afternoon classes begins at 12 p.m. If your child is staying with us for the morning and the afternoon, they will enjoy a supervised group lunch with their new friends.
Students enrolled for full days have a lunch break from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. A box lunch from SAGE Dining Services® is offered for all kindergarten–Grade 12 students participating in our summer programs at no additional charge. Gluten-free options are available. Students may bring their own non-perishable lunches (no nuts, please). Clearly mark names on lunch containers.

Register online at https://summerljcds.campbrainregistration.com unless stated otherwise in the program description. Students should enroll in classes for the grade level they will be entering in fall 2022. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is reserved upon full payment. Classes will only run if there is adequate enrollment. Classes are subject to change. Registration closes at noon two weeks before the start of each session.

When enrolling an international student, they should be proficient in English (spoken language and for some classes reading and writing) in order to fully benefit from the class. Students may be advised to withdraw or switch classes if they do not meet proficiency standards.

Refund Policy
If a session is canceled before the start of the class due to insufficient enrollment, a full refund will be offered if an alternative class is not available. If a class is canceled due to a COVID-19–related issue, a prorated refund will be provided based on the number of days remaining in the session.

A refund of 100% of the tuition for any class can be obtained before Friday, May 13, by emailing summerprograms@ljcds.org. A 75% refund will be made for refund requests between May 14–May 22. A 50% refund will be made for refund requests made no later than two weeks before the start of a class. To ensure proper staffing and supplies, refunds after that point in time cannot be offered.
