Ms. Stringer and Ms. Corona will host students for extra creativity time outside of class. This is a free program for students to practice skills and explore concepts on their own—emphasizing students’ inquiry-based approach to art-making while encouraging experimentation and discovery. Open Studios is not for additional instruction but rather extra studio time to create freely and expand each young artist’s individual art practice. Middle School students must first check-in with aftercare in room 102 before entering the art studios.     Dali String Quartet

    Four Flowers Theater - Theater
    The Dali String Quartet (from Pennsylvania) is on tour and will be in San Diego next week.  We have a wonderful opportunity to hear them perform next Tuesday, January 14, from 8:00-9:00 am in the Four Flowers Theater.  Anyone is welcome to attend if you are available.  You may also bring your class.  The quartet will perform for about 40 minutes beginning at 8:00 am and then they will have a Q & A until 9:00 am.

    Please let me know if you have any questions.  I would love to see you there!

  • Coastline Case Studies for Juniors at Francis Parker School

    Francis Parker School
    Current Country Day Juniors and their parents should attend to learn more about the college admission process. We will partner with Francis Parker, Bishops and High Tech High School to offer this important program. Come get a behind the scenes look at the admission process through the evaluation of applications to a fictitious college. Discussions will be led by current admission officers at various colleges. After the application discussion, there will be a college fair. A "must attend" event for all juniors! More info to follow.

We are providing a morning and evening opportunity with the goal of accommodating the schedules of our grade 4 parents. The presentations will be identical.  

    The hope is to provide parents with the tools, resources and information you will need to best support your child as they transition into our Middle School next fall.  This is an important opportunity to learn about the transition from Lower School to Middle School.
