This junior is driven by his belief that access to technology should never determine a student’s ability to learn or pursue their interests.
Injin “Quinn” Park ’27 has been named a Tony Gwynn Community All-Star, earning a $5,000 grant for a local nonprofit and recognition for meaningful community service. He was one of nine students selected across the region and was celebrated during an on-field ceremony at Petco Park on April 28, 2026, before the San Diego Padres faced the Chicago Cubs. The honor highlights Quinn’s commitment to expanding access to technology for underserved students across San Diego.
“It was a super fun experience, and I got a baseball signed by Jackson Merill!” Quinn shared.
The program, launched in 2022 by the Padres, honors the legacy of Tony Gwynn, a Hall of Fame outfielder known for both his athletic excellence and his deep commitment to the San Diego community. Today, the initiative continues that legacy by recognizing students who are making a tangible difference through service.
Quinn volunteers with
Computers 2 Kids, an organization that provides affordable technology and support to families who might otherwise go without. After meeting Chief Philanthropy Officer Yvette Herrera at LJCDS’s community service fair, he was struck by how many students lack access to a reliable computer at home.
“As someone who has been incredibly supported by my family,” Quinn shares, “I feel a responsibility to help others who are just as eager but don’t have the same resources I do. The mission of Computers 2 Kids matters to me because I genuinely care about making sure that a lack of technology never stands between a student and their dreams.”
He volunteers by refurbishing computers and helping at distribution events, directly contributing to the organization’s mission to close the digital divide.

The $5,000 grant comes at an important time. Rising costs tied to global supply chain challenges have made it harder for Computers 2 Kids to source parts, yet the organization remains committed to keeping technology affordable. The funding will support refurbishing efforts, distribution programs, and ongoing technical support for families, ensuring every eager learner has the technology to reach their potential.
The recognition also carries special significance. Tony Gwynn had long supported Computers 2 Kids through public service announcements, making this award a meaningful continuation of his impact on the community.

When Baseball Coach John Edman heard the news, he shared, “Quinn is a kind, hardworking, and dedicated young man who does a lot behind the scenes and stays involved in so many areas of school life. This recognition doesn’t surprise me at all—he’s incredibly deserving and someone who will go on to do special things.”
Quinn’s achievement reflects a sustained effort to make opportunity more accessible, one student at a time.
