All are welcome to join us virtually for the next Speaker Series on “Narrative Approaches to Advancing Public Health Messages” with Dr. Lourdes Baezconde-Garbanati, Professor of Preventive Medicine and Associate Dean of Community Initiatives at USC.
Dr. Baezconde-Garbanati is a widely recognized national and international community scholar in the areas of culture and community health, with an emphasis on Hispanic/LatinX health and wellness. Her work is known for its creativity and transdisciplinary nature.
Her academic prowess and community focus converge with ingenuity to produce unique programs of research that advance science while fulfilling community needs. Dr. Baezconde-Garbanati develops and tests innovative interventions that help modify cultural and lifestyle risk factors for cancer and tobacco control at the community level. She teaches courses on gender and ethnic minority health, health promotion and disease prevention, culture, and community organizing and mobilization for health locally and globally.
