Carrying the Torch of Giving
The Class of 2025 closed out their time at La Jolla Country Day School with a powerful act of generosity and purpose.
As they prepared to join the ranks of Torrey alumni, the class came together to make a collective gift in support of The Hub for Human Impact, the school’s future learning commons opening in 2026. Though they would not benefit from the space themselves, they chose to pay it forward to help shape the opportunities and experiences of future Torreys, just as the classes before them had done.
Since the tradition began in 2016, the Senior Class Gift has been an essential part of the school’s culture of philanthropy. Each graduating class has reflected on the people and programs that shaped their journey and contributed in honor of those special individuals and experiences.
Choosing to use their $26,320 gift for one of The Hub’s Naming Opportunities, the class of 2025 will name a stair on the “Together We Rise” staircase. Each named stair recognizes donors who help lift future Torreys, making the class’s gift both a symbolic and tangible investment in the next generation of leaders.
By investing in The Hub for Human Impact, the Class of 2025 left a lasting imprint on a space that will prepare students to explore bold ideas, collaborate across disciplines, and navigate an ever-changing world. Their participation sent a powerful message to the entire community: Torreys are worth the investment, and alumni play a vital role in ensuring that future generations benefit from exceptional programs, dedicated educators, and a strong, connected school community.
