Spring Athletic Awards

On Friday morning, May 13, the upper school gathered in the amphitheater to celebrate the athletes and coaches from our softball, baseball, sand volleyball, men’s volleyball, men’s golf, men’s tennis and men’s and women’s track and field, swimming, surf and lacrosse teams.  Country Day’s coaches honored numerous student-athletes for their skill, work ethic, leadership, determination and Torrey Pride.  366 upper school students competed for their school in 2015-16 with 100 students playing 2 sports and 33 earning 3-sport athlete recognition.  60 members of the class of 2016 played a spring season sport (50% of the seniors) and 76 spring season juniors and seniors were named to the Union Tribune’s All-Academic Team.
