Business Club at the International Diamond Challenge

The Business Club won second place at the Diamond Challenge Global business concept competition.
Following their success at the Diamond Challenge regional pitch fest (for more information about the team’s business pitch, Polar Solis, click here), the Business Club moved on to the final international competition held in Newark, Delaware at the University of Delaware. The team included Julian Davis ’17, Philip Lee ’16, Rostam Reifschneider ’17, and Alexander Burch ’17 (substituting for George Little ’16). Team members Rostam and Julian share the Business Club’s story behind their achieving second place in the competition:
Rostam: This past Wednesday, April 13, we flew to Newark, Delaware to compete in the international competition. Thursday, April 14, was the semifinal competition and we won. Then on Friday, April 15, was the broadcasted, international final competition. We won second place and received $6,500 to invest in our business. We were granted a scholarship to an incubator program this summer. We won second place out of 1000+ teams from 22 countries (click here for a featured article on the official Diamond Challenge website).

Wayne Kimmel - Entrepreneur/Venture Capitalist (founded SeventySix Capital, currently managing partner).
Kris Vaddi - Recognized scientist.
Senator Harris McDowell III- Senator representing Delaware's 1st district.
Katlyn Grasso - Founder and CEO of GenHERation, an organization working to close the gap between men and women in the business world.
Suzanne Sysko Clough - President & CEO of Clough Health and Wellness, LLC.
Julian: “We plan on allocating the prize money towards patent expenses. We are very excited with what we have accomplished and with what lies ahead for our company.”
