The La Jolla Country Day School faculty, administration and staff are strong, diverse and talented individuals who have been drawn together for a common purpose. Ours is a vibrant community with an exciting charge—to create a stronger, better place where our children and those of future generations can grow to become excellent individuals, citizens and adventurers of the world.
Below is a list of the administration, staff and faculty. To locate a member, click on the drop-down menus below to search by division, department or last name. Faculty and staff bios are also available below.
“I inspire greatness for a better world by making the payroll process as seamless as possible. One of my business professors in college said that the most successful companies don’t skimp on employees’ basic needs. If staff are worried about their basic needs, then they are not giving the company 100 percent. If the faculty and staff are worried about whether or not their paychecks will be correct, they aren’t focusing on inspiring greatness for the next generation.”
Summer McCamon has more than 200 paycheck auditors, so attention to detail is important to her. She is customer-service driven and strives to support her co-workers with kindness, dignity and integrity. Before joining La Jolla Country Day School in August 2012, Ms. McCamon was the accounts receivable specialist at the San Diego American Red Cross. She joined LJCDS as accounts payable coordinator and then moved to payroll manager last year.
Ms. McCamon is a bit of a Disney fanatic. Some of her co-workers go so far as to call her office the “Happiest Place on Campus.” Summer also enjoys studying the Bible and working out.
“I inspire greatness by keeping the lights on at La Jolla Country Day School. As the accounts payable coordinator, I review and process more than 200 invoices a week, all of which help create a learning environment and school experience distinct to LJCDS.”
Prior to joining LJCDS’s business office, Johanna Motos worked at Novus Biologicals, a Colorado-based biotech company, as an accounting and office administrator for the company’s San Diego facility. Before joining the biotech industry in 2009, Ms. Motos pursued an Associate of Science degree in culinary arts from the Art Institute of California, San Diego.
If Ms. Motos lived in the swingin’ 60s, you would find her front row at a Beatles concert, singing along to every tune.
