Applying to the Middle School (Grades 5-8)

Middle School is a time of transitions where students begin to discover themselves and their potential to change the world. La Jolla Country Day School (LJCDS) is a school that will challenge your child in a nurturing environment to develop independence of thought, habit and mind.

Schedule a Family Interview

The interview is a conversation that will allow us to learn more about your family and for your family to learn more about La Jolla Country Day. Families who submit an inquiry form and/or application will receive a link to schedule a family interview.

Please note, for students applying to Grades 5–11, the family interview includes both the student and their parents/guardians.

Start the process of becoming a Torrey by completing the online application.

New users:
      Create a SchoolAdmin account and complete the application.
Returning users:
    Use your SchoolAdmin credentials to log in and complete the application.
Once the application has been submitted, an individualized checklist of the required application components will be generated in your SchoolAdmin account.

Complete the Admission Checklist by February 1, 2025

Schedule Your Child's Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)

The ISEE must be completed by February 1, 2025.  Please visit the ISEE website to register.  The school code is 051333.

Complete the Financial Assistance Application (if applicable)

For more information, please visit the financial assistance webpage. Financial assistance applications must be submitted by February 1, 2025.

Receive a Decision from LJCDS

Families who complete the application process by February 1, 2025, will receive an email notification with the admission decision on Friday, March 7, 2025.
