Applying to the Middle School (Grades 5–8)
Middle School is about finding a community where students develop the confidence to stretch beyond what they already know, and discover who they are becoming. At LJCDS, Middle School is a time of discovery and growth. With increasing academic freedom and the support of their teachers, students work across disciplines to ignite passions and push beyond their familiar world. The result is a Middle School experience that prepares students to enter Upper School with strong character, curiosity, and a genuine sense of belonging.

Apply
Applications open on September 1. You are welcome to review a Middle School sample checklist to help you with your planning. A detailed list is available in your child’s Finalsite application portal.
Schedule Your Child’s Testing
The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) must be completed by February 1. Please visit the ISEE website or the SSAT website to learn more.
Complete the Financial Assistance Application

Receive a Decision from LJCDS
Families who complete the application process by February 1 will receive an email notification with the admission decision in mid-March.
