Upper School

Applying to the Upper School (Grades 9-12)

As a college preparatory institution, La Jolla Country Day School (LJCDS) strives for academic excellence. It is our goal to provide students with the necessary skills and resources to excel academically and personally at the college level and beyond. Our rigorous academic community is dedicated to fostering critical, creative and socially conscious thinkers.

Help us get to know your family and share what brings you to LJCDS by completing the inquiry form.

Step 2

Learn More About Our Campus (Optional)


Virtual Campus Tour and Information Session
Using our interactive map, a member of our team will share detailed information about our programs and facilities, as well as answer any questions you have about the LJCDS community.

In-person Campus Tour 
Due to COVID, all participants must provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the tour. Masks are required for all on-campus visits.

Step 3

Schedule a Family Interview


The interview is a conversation that will allow us to learn more about your family and for your family to learn more about La Jolla Country Day. Families who submit an inquiry form and/or application will receive a link to schedule a family interview. Please note, for students applying to grades 5 - 11 the family interview includes both the student and their parents/guardians.

Step 4

Apply

Start the process of becoming a Torrey by completing the online application.

  • New users: Create a SchoolAdmin account and complete the application.
  • Returning users: Use your SchoolAdmin credentials to log in and complete the application.
Once the application has been submitted, an individualized checklist of the required application components will be generated in your SchooAdmin account.

Step 5

Complete the Admission Checklist by Tuesday, February 1, 2022 

Step 6

Schedule Your Child's Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)


The ISEE must be completed by February 1, 2022.  Please visit the ISEE website to register.  The school code is 051333.

Step 7

Complete the Financial Assistance Application (if applicable)


For more information, please visit the financial assistance webpage. Financial assistance applications must be submitted by Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

Step 8

Receive a Decision from LJCDS


Families who complete the application process by Tuesday, February 1, 2022, will receive an email notification with the admission decision on Friday, March 11, 2022.
