Application Season
Dear Upper School Families,
October is upon us, and we find ourselves in the final stretch for the Class of 2026 early application deadlines. Our seniors are diligently finalizing their college lists and polishing essays, while both faculty and college counselors craft thoughtful letters of recommendation to be submitted by month's end. With the first round of early deadlines arriving on October 15, followed quickly by the November 1 deadline, the intensity of college admission season is in full swing. During this critical period, our college counseling team will be available to meet with seniors through both group sessions and individual 1:1 appointments to ensure every student feels supported through the finish line.
We're energized from a busy September of professional development. Our team recently attended the University of California system-wide school counselor conference, where we gained crucial admission updates and best practices directly from UC campuses. We then traveled to Columbus, Ohio, for the National Association for College Admission Counseling conference, where we connected with colleagues from universities and high schools from around the world. While there, we took the opportunity to visit several universities in Ohio, deepening our understanding of programs and opportunities available to our students. These experiences have reenergized our commitment to supporting Country Day students through their college admission journeys.
Closer to home, we've also curated a series of college admission workshops for the entire Upper School community. We're excited to invite you to several upcoming sessions: a financial aid information evening on October 8, a deep dive into the landscape of college testing on October 13, and several other great programs. This month's newsletter outlines our complete programming and provides timely updates on the ever-evolving college admissions landscape.
