In our 90th year and in an exciting time in the school’s history, La Jolla Country Day School is pleased to launch our new visual identity. LJCDS’ new logo and wordmark represent our purpose and our brand promise of inspiring greatness for a better world. As LJCDS attracts students, families, faculty and staff from around San Diego, the nation and the world, we seek to develop a brand that is recognized nationally and globally.
The design of our logo and mascot, the Torrey pine tree, reflects and embraces the unique characteristics of this rare pine species. Complete with accentuated pine-needle clusters and a wind-blown look toward progress, the new tree also pays tribute to our history with visible roots and a stamp of our founding date. Our wordmark emphasizes “La Jolla,” the beautiful community in which we reside. Although still known as “Country Day” internally, we’ve recognized that there are hundreds of independent schools who share part of our name, but no one else shares our acronym, LJCDS.
Our new visual identity represents the LJCDS of today but also the future.
