Louise Steinman is a writer, artist and independent library curator, “roving cultural correspondent,” co-director of the Los Angeles Institute for the Humanities and founder of the Aloud series at the LA Library. Her work frequently deals with memory, history and reconciliation including The Souvenir: A Daughter Discovers Her Father’s War and The Crooked Mirror: A Memoir of Polish-Jewish Reconciliation. Louise examines them in the context of family history as a portal into memoir and also, social action.
