Promoting Empathy and Acceptance on Mental Health Awareness Day
On March 4, the 5th Annual Mental Health Awareness Day in the Lower and Upper School invited students to slow down, connect, and focus on well-being.
Upper School students in the Mental Health Education Flex helped lead the day by creating a video focused on empathy and acceptance. Their work encouraged reflection, understanding, and care for one another across campus. There was also a collaboration with the Lower School Kindness Crew and non-screen options during advisory, like board games.
To make space for that focus, there were no tests or homework the next day. Students and families were encouraged to unplug and spend quality time together, reinforcing the importance of balance, connection, and caring for the whole child.
