Torrey Football Report - Week 4 vs Crawford
Torreys win third game in a row, 42-14!
Your Torreys (3-1) won their third straight game on Friday night after defeating Crawford High School (3-1) 42-14. Honoring our incredible faculty and staff, the boys in blue once again put up over 40 points, which they have done every game so far this season. QB Braxton Burmeister ’17 had another great game throwing for 3 TDs and running for 2 (and over 1oo yards). Casey Mariucci ’17 (back from injury) caught 2 TDs and ended the game with over 100 yards receiving. Freshman Khalid Jackson bowled his way into the endone for his first career touchdown. Defensively, the Sea of Blue gave the Colts nowhere to run all night, holding them to fewer than 4 yards per carry. The Torrey linebackers led the way, as Ryan Lariccia ’17, Izaiah Poutoa ’16, and Jacob Church ’17 all finished with double digit tackles. Trevor Rudolph ’17 hauled in a huge interception that helped the Torreys start to pull away in the first half. The real stars of the game though were all the teachers who donned their players’ jersey and were recognized on the field at halftime!
